The 1999 RX300 is a completely new model, and was designed to combine the handling and feeling of a luxury sedan with the abilities and ground clearance of an off road vehicle. Lexus introduced the RX300, the automakers second sport ute, at the 1998 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. When this newest Lexus model went on sale in March, Lexus became the only luxury marque in the U.S. offering two distinct sport utility vehicles.
